First of all, sorry for the delay. Due to all of us having a busy week or being on christmas break, we're responding this one really late.
Due to following rule you may find in the constitution, we're sorry to say you cannot sign Lance before the offseason.

3. Waiving Players:
If you decide to waive a player at any time during the season he goes to the Waiver Wire where, if a team (the waiving team can't) picks that player up within 48 hours, his contract is 100% off your books. If no one picks him up, or you release him during the offseason, you are responsible for 50% of his remaining contract for each guaranteed year he has left. After 48 hours, the waived player is placed into free agency and cannot be signed via bidding by the same team until next offseson.
