Team Rosters 101
1. Size limitations
1A. During the regular season:
- Minimum rostered players: 12 (12 active players)
- Maximum rostered players: 21 (15 active + 3 D-League Players + 3 IR Players).
- Yahoo: 12-15 active (D-League and IR Players will not be visible on your Yahoo Team page, but you will be able to view them on the Master Roster excel spreadsheet).
1B. During the offseason:
There are no limitations except from the fact that your team cannot have more than 21 active contracts (IR and D-League members included).
You need to be under/at the cap (110 mil) and under/at the roster limit by the end of the last day of the preseason (Date TBD).
1C. Yahoo League Roster Breakdown
You will be starting 10 players each night.
PG, SG, SF, PF, C, 5 x UTL
Also, you will be able to have 5 players on your bench (5 x BN).
Only your active players will be visible on the Yahoo platform.
2. IR List
Each team is allowed to place 3 players on their IR. The players' salaries will not count against the team's cap during their time on IR
The IR eligibility will be based on the Yahoo! standards meaning, you will be able to request for a player to be placed on IR ONLY WHEN Yahoo! applied the IR/INJ/OUT status to him. That implies that the Yahoo League is up and running. For the portion of every offseason when the Yahoo League is inactive, there will be no IR assignments.
In order to make this easier for you the Add-Drop option in the Yahoo! platform will be eliminated and the Committee will be updating all the rosters accordingly. Your sole responsibility will be to simply post in the appropriate thread the name of the player that you want to be placed on IR
When Yahoo removes the IR eligibility from a player, you will have 1 week to make the necessary moves in order to either bring him back to the active roster, assign him to D-League or waive him. Again, it will be your responsibility to post the name of the player that you want to be reinstated in the active roster. If you miss the deadline, the player will be automatically dropped and the GM will have to cover half of the guaranteed salary for the remaining years of his contract.
3. D-League
You are allowed to have 3 players in the D-League. This allows you to stash players who aren't contributing yet but one day you think could, all without taking up a vital bench spot. While on the D-League, the contract of this player won't count against your salary cap.
Here are the requirements for D-League eligibility:
- On a rookie contract or 4 years or less in the league
- Only able to be called up if you have an open roster spot (i.e. a team with all starters and bench spots filled cannot call D-League player up until they cut/trade someone)
- Once in the D-League, they must remain there for a minimum of 1 matchup (1 week). For example, if a player gets called up on Wednesday he has to remain to the active roster until Sunday, which is the final day of the weekly matchup
- The same player can only be called up a maximum of 3 times per season after which he must stay on your active roster permanently
Again, since the Add-Drop option in the Yahoo! platform will be eliminated the Committee will be updating all the rosters accordingly. Your sole responsibility will be to simply post in the appropriate thread the name of the player that you want to designate to the D-League.
4. Anti-Tanking Policy:
Each week a team must field enough active players to qualify for a minimum of 20 games played. If you feel there’s a week you might not get there due to injuries or exceptional circumstances, it’s on you to email the commitee.
If a team violates the Anti-tanking rule they will be selecting as the last team in both rounds in next year’s Draft. We really don’t want to be the police here so as long as you communicate with us there will be no need to punish teams.
