It took a while but since there isn’t too much movement in the league these are some preliminary rankings aimed at bullying you into more deals as your team IS NOT that good!! Feel free to get offended 😎
ATLANTA HAWKS (sorry bud but your team is at the bottom just like the trash that smells but you can’t see)
Sure, a sexy team with young talent and plenty of money to spend in the offseason but let’s just not forget that Dennis Smith Jr. was outside of the top-200 last year in 9-cat leagues shooting 39.5 percent from the field and 69 percent from the charity line while averaging 2.8 turnovers. Dewayne Dedmon has a player option and is probably looking for his last paycheck but what if he decides to stay in Hotlanda another year and the Hawks Draft JJJ or another big?? A manager who officially is asking for an arm and a leg and shoulder in all trade negotiations at least he got a future 2nd round pick for DeAndre “Who The Fuck?” Bembry so that his 15y plan gains some momentum. Lloyd Pierce, a Sixers assistant who drew solid praise for his development work in Philly, will take over next season but we don’t really have an idea about his coaching style. More on the Hawks’ player stock here www.hoop-ball.com/articles/hoop-ball-fantasy-basketball-features/season-review-the-atlanta-hawks-post-mortem/
BROOKLYN NETS
It’s one thing to have confidence in your players and another thing to be delusional about them. Who the fuck would want your German garbage sir? RHJ, Levert and Allen have potential but just when he got himself a top-10 fantasy player in Dame this manager immediately traded him away for another German and the so called “Prince” of Atlanta who was great and bad at the same time this year. Prince had to go through an adjustment period and it was obvious at times that he was not prepared for this much responsibility. This resulted in him disappearing for weeks with strings of lackluster performances. Overall, his game is better and he’s a more mature player who should continue to take his fantasy value to the next level. And how about Dennis Schroder who the Hawks are reportedly trying to trade away? Is he a starter or a backup point guard in the league? The Nets backcourt will be crowded next season and it’s possible that Dinwiddie or Lin will be attractive trade pieces next season on expiring contracts and that’s a factor to consider in fantasy. Whitehead, Ellenson and Kleber have NO place in competitive rosters of a dynasty league but who knows what’s next, Stauskas? Stauskas?

UTAH JAZZ
A nice core of Gobert and Mitchel but a lot of missed opportunities in the reload draft as Dillon Brooks is only projected to be a solid role players down the road and nothing more than that. Also, who on earth eats Lamb and Bacon for breakfast or lunch?? Don’t expect Gobert to become a stronger scoring threat as the Jazz have found their new offensive machine in Donovan Mitchell. The Don has exceeded all expectations for his rookie year and it was a two-man race for ROY between him and Ben Simmons in a loaded draft class. He still has some work to do with shot selection, but those problems are masked by his ability to finish tough shots. His role is only going to expand within the Jazz offense as he’s the best shot creator on the team. (#analysis)
A well known spender he can’t wait to make a splash in the RFA and UFA period and trade Exum for a superstar, HUH??

INDIANA PACERS
Clearly there are more important things than winning a fantasy league and owning Trey Burke and a top-5 C (🤦🏻♂️) like Nik Vucevic are at the top of Indiana’s list. He has already missed out on the opportunity to sell high on Oladipo; be realistic, what are the odds he has a better year than the season that just ended? Regression is inevitable while Myles Turner let down so many managers and nothing guarantees that he can get past the ‘soft’ tag. Not only did Turner regress, but his compatriot center Domantas Sabonis showed real progress in his development and turned into a great foil for what Turner SHOULD become. Indiana still hasn’t picked up Lance’s option and while Sabonis might be a starter next year (with Thad Young reportedly considering opting out of his league) the Pacers have some ca$h to spend and Marcus Smart is on their wish list. But anyway, Indiana is just here to watch Trey’s highlights youtu.be/EHQCZyxUfPs

HOUSTON ROCKETS
A manager who never saw a project he didn’t like, he really reminds me of myself. The question though is how many is too many? Cause you are supposed to construct a team that wins in a league not a team that has the best All-Rookie team in its roster. The Rockets post-Mortem is here but it’s irrelevant cause the entire team except from Zhou Qi was sold for a piece of bread and some Zachary (Zachary in Greek means sugar, pathetic joke, I know 👇🏼👆🏼). www.hoop-ball.com/articles/hoop-ball-fantasy-basketball-features/season-review-the-houston-rockets-post-mortem/
SACRAMENTO KINGS
Bradley Beal is out there waiting to be traded (but the price might be steep) while the draft night will determine next year’s value for many of his current players. Next season will be the biggest test yet for Cauley-Stein. Will he continue to move forward with his production and development? Or will he slowly regress? Having lofty expectations are probably unfair on Labissiere, who’s still just 22 years of age. He lacked consistency for much of the season and was often burned on defense. Owning the No. 3 pick in our draft makes things even more interesting and I’m really jealous cause I would be negotiating like Hinky if I were in his place. But what about the outlook of the #Kangz?? Is there any fantasy talent in this squad?

SAN ANTONIO SPURS
One of the rookies of our league, he has been picking up the slack with a few trades, plenty of moves and the acquisition of potential rookie of the year Jason Blossomgame (HUH?). Dejounte Murray’s skillset didn’t lend itself to serious fantasy value. Murray’s an elite point guard in terms of rebounds and a solid option for steals and blocks, but other than that his fantasy game left owners wanting more. At least for this season. Kawhi will be actually playing for a team next year though, right?

MIAMI HEAT
Standing pat just like Pat Riley would do, waiting to capitalize on potential high risk, high reward opportunities like Zach Lavine. Another spender who keeps saying NO to grandfather trade offers for Josh Richardson, look out guys, he might draft this year’s Kyle Kuzma. Whiteside went from 17/14.1/2.1 to 13.9/11.4/1.7 points/rebounds/blocks. Those were also his worst since joining Miami and his 54 percent from the field was his worst since his Sacramento days back in 2011-12. We do not know yet where Whiteside will be playing in 2018-19 but if it is with the Heat, don’t expect his minutes to rise more than marginally. If anything, it’s more feasible they fall again or plateau. Nonetheless, Adebayo may be in for a much larger role in his sophomore campaign as Whiteside is expected to be traded this summer.

NEW ORLEANS PELICANS
A pretty stubborn manager who will need a TON of persuading to agree on a trade he’s been going MIA for days lately since he doesn’t care for your trade offers 🤡. Let’s all promise to pay him with the same coin once he squads underperforms and he starts selling his assets faster than those Turkish generals run off to Greece after Erdy’s failed coup. AD’s biggest concern coming into 2017-18 was his durability but he silenced doubters by repeating his 75-games-played season from 2016-17, shaking or playing through minor injuries to still deliver the goods. After this spectacular run, don’t expect him to fall farther than third in most drafts in 2018-19. That “Davis at a discount” play is no longer an option in the first round. Jrue played well as a second option to Davis but his future production and value will largely be dependent on whether the Pelicans retain Cousins and Rondo so it might be time to sell high buddy. Only $23m to spend so how about the rest of the roster?? www.hoop-ball.com/articles/hoop-ball-fantasy-basketball-features/season-review-the-new-orleans-pelicans-post-mortem/
LOS ANGELES LAKERS
Not sure what the plan here is but the collection of youth is intriguing and there’s plenty of cash to be spend. When Lonzo was on the court he was a viable asset for his fantasy owners despite the terrible percentages and I don’t see that changing next season. Kuzma could become the Lakers’ go-to guy in the future or he could just be a key piece to a contending team. Ingram only played 59 games but in those 59 games he flashed superstar potential uf what really happens if the big 3 heads to LA? Is it maybe time to sell high on all of the assets? Press the panic button, Emmanuel Mudiay and Cam Payne to the rescue 🤦🏻♂️or time for both of them to move to China!! youtu.be/HZ27uY_Al8M

PHOENIX SUNS
Phoenix is ready to match the insane offer sheet that comes towards his way for Capela once RFA period starts in our league. What’s the price you are willing to pay? $15? $20? $25 million?? Is Reggie on the bounce back train? Fultz looks like a nice calculated risk but his biggest supporter in Phily is out of town and Brett Brown likes his guys (McConnell and Holmes) so let’s hope that the Suns are not stuck in the middle of the rankings forever. Doctor’s orders are clear:

BOSTON CELTICS
The keymaster of our league aka the genius behind the algorithm that made sure all of us get an equal opportunity to build our squads, kudos once again for taking this league to a whole different level. Now let’s talk trades, the sell high window for Kyrie, Brown, Tatum and Rozier is rapidly rapidly closing. I’m surprised Boston hasn’t executed any trades so far but I don’t blame the manager since he’s at least reasonable and asking for a fair price, contrary to the majority of the league who goes by the “nothing for something” trade mandate. I mean, Hayward is back next season, the Celtics run their offense through Hayward and Tatum/Brown/Rozier won’t be logging heavy minutes the way they did during the playoffs. And when has Kevin Love stayed healthy for an entire season? And has anyone really watched the kneecap surgery that Kyrie? Do you feel he is going to be reliable after going through this youtu.be/VpbKU3SP7Zk and an ensuing infection? And why does Yabusele have butt implants?? This is a fantasy league not a Kardashians TV show.

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS
Steph Curry surely is one of the top fantasy assets but his durability is in question as he gets older while the financial toll of his contract is a heavy one to curry, right? Still that didn’t prevent Clippers’ management to trade for him AND Draft future hall of farmer Trey Burke. Despite an excellent fantasy season out of Tobias Harris, there really isn’t a ton to say. The Clippers have to be happy with the early returns here as he’s a consistent, productive option that can be had in the middle-rounds and figures to land in that zone again barring a major roster shakeup. (Kawhi to LAC??). Still plenty of holes to fill and not too much cash so let’s see how the offseason shakes up for another mediocre collection of talent.
www.hoop-ball.com/articles/hoop-ball-fantasy-basketball-features/season-review-the-la-clippers-post-mortem/
CHICAGO BULLS
Aggressive at the early stages of the league, this manager looks poised to build a contender this year but other than PG what’s here to like? The Bulls appear enamored with Trae Young and are also high on Collin Sexton while they aren’t really worried about how drafting another point guard could affect Kris Dunn’s development in the near future. Dwight might be on his way out of Charlotte and Kanter might have to stop basketball in order to save his dad from spending the next 15 years in jail. Is Julius Randle a top-50 player next season? And can Markannen improve or is he the second coming of Andrea Bargani?? DENVER NUGGETS
Fantasy is not about winning obviously, it’s about getting the Hernangomez brothers on the same team and pray they get the playing time they didn’t receive this past season. The collection of talent here is very rich and the Joker is rapidly becoming everyone’s favorite fantasy player. The team has an embarrassment of riches at the four (with Lyles and Lydon leading the way🤡), but remain incredibly thin on the wing so let’s start the “Melo back to Denver” rumor mill here. A manager that also loves potential he is still very high on Franky D and Isaac D so make sure you offer your All-Stars if you want to trade for these guys.

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
A sad, sad story is developing in Minnesota as Sarp is looking to shed some salary and sign the Danilo Gallinaris of the world to a 4 year/$60 contracts but this still a talented squad. KAT has yet to miss a regular season game in three years in the league while showing noticeable improvements each season. One thing to keep an eye on is Butler’s percentages, as he shot a career-high 47.3 percent last season after being at 45.5 percent the past two season. A possible trade of Andrew Wiggins could possibly open up a few more touches per game for Teague as Wiggins is second on the team in usage rate. Additionally, regarding his playing time, it’s possible that Teague can see a slight uptick in minutes per game if he’s healthier in the coming season. (YOU ARE WELCOME Sarp for me doing some extraordinary marketing on uncle Jeff). If you want to know more about his trash bags go here

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
Another manager who is busier operating burner accounts these days instead of logging into the forum and double checking his DM’s. I don’t blame him tho, his team is loaded, he’s not looking to make trades after the Curry sellout and he has a nice little budget to add some pieces. Injury concerns aside, Durant should enter next season as close to a sure thing as possible to turn in another top-5 fantasy performance. Despite a decline in scoring output and rebound numbers playing next to Kevin Durant for the first time in the 2016 season, Green was able to buy his fantasy value with a significant bump in steals. And while JaVale McGee, Zaza Pachulia, David West and Kevon Looney all played ahead of Jordan Bell at points in the season, none of the aforementioned players are on the books for the Dubs in the 2018 season

PHILADELPHIA SIXERS
#Wanted since day 1 of the league for assault, battery, trade rape and kidnapping, our favorite trade maniac has been able to assemble a squad with a loaded fantasy value. Problem is he got too excited and started calling Josh Jackson a franchise player, so let’s all try to bring him back to planet earth please. Joel Embiid will carry a heavy price heading into next season but he has already talked about how he wants to be the MVP of the league. In his “rookie” season, Ben Simmons showed us why he was taken No. 1 overall. After an incredible rookie campaign and the overall success of the Sixers, it is very possible that Simmons will come into next season as over-ranked. The Homie and Roco look to take the bigger hot in case a superstar lands in Phily while Westbrook will continue to get his meaningless triple doubles which translate to fantasy gold. Early favorite of the year? Sure, but don’t forget about the fantasy gods...

Giannis wants a ring so Milwaukee has already brought LeBron in the Midwest. Will that be enough? Without a starting caliber C? Or maybe this league can be won by just having a couple top-10 players right? One thing is for sure, expectations are already high, pls don’t let us down Milwaukee!

MILWAUKEE BUCKS
Giannis wants a ring so Milwaukee has already brought LeBron in the Midwest. Will that be enough? Without a starting caliber C? Or maybe this league can be won by just having a couple top-10 players right? One thing is for sure, expectations are already high, pls don’t let us down Milwaukee!
